IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, MUET, Linguaskill — and what they mean.
Pick the test you took and the score you got. You get the CEFR level it aligns to, roughly where that sits on every other test, and the level you would start at with us. Nothing you choose is sent anywhere.
IELTS publishes a CEFR alignment from Band 4 upward only; below that it reports a band but no CEFR level.

Read this before you rely on it. These are each test's own alignment to the CEFR, not equivalences between tests. IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, MUET and Linguaskill measure overlapping but different things on different scales, so a converted score tells you the neighbourhood you are in, not an exact match. The university and the visa authority decide what they accept — always check the requirement itself.

An em dash means the test publishes no alignment at that level — not that the level is unreachable. Linguaskill additionally reports 82–99 as below A1.

Is an IELTS 6.0 the same as a PTE 59?
Not exactly, no.
TOEFL changed its scoring — which score do I have?
ETS moved the TOEFL iBT to a 1–6 band scale on 21 January 2026. If you tested before that, your report shows a total out of 120; if you tested since, it shows a band, and during the 2026–2028 transition ETS prints both. This converter handles either — pick 'TOEFL iBT' for the band or 'TOEFL iBT (0–120)' for the old total.
What score do Malaysian universities ask for?
Most undergraduate and master's programmes sit around CEFR B2 — commonly IELTS 5.5 to 6.0 for a bachelor's and 6.0 for a master's — but each university sets its own, varies it by programme, and publishes its own list of accepted tests. The programme pages on this site show the typical level for each award level, and a counsellor confirms the actual requirement before you apply.
What if my English is not there yet?
That is the ordinary case, and it is what the centre exists for. As an official English provider we take students from A1 upward on a five-level CEFR ladder, and partner universities issue conditional offers against it — you secure the seat first and meet the English requirement on the way.
Do I need a test score at all?
Not to start. Our free placement test returns a CEFR band in about twenty minutes and is what we use to place you. A formal IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or MUET score is what the university and the visa authority need later, and your counsellor will tell you which one is worth booking.
A converted score tells you where you stand. The placement test tells you where you would start, and the programme pages tell you what each university asks for.
Is your score enough?
Send a counsellor your score and the programme you are aiming at. They check it against what that university actually asks for and tell you whether you are there, or what is left — free.
