About fifteen minutes, in your own language if you prefer. Your answers are kept on your device until you send them.

A short online interview with our Academic team, and a demo lesson we watch, live or recorded.

Checks
Your qualifications, two references and your right to work. A background check too if you want to teach under-18s.

Your profile goes live
We write it with you, add the Verified by PECSB badge, and start matching you with learners.
What we look for
Who we are looking for.
- A teaching qualification (CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, a teaching degree), or a degree and real classroom hours.
- A strong command of the language you teach: native, or a result such as IELTS, HSK or JLPT.
- The right to work in Malaysia, or you live abroad and teach online only.
- Lessons that keep the learner talking.
- A background check, if you want to teach children or teens.

Questions teachers ask
Is this a job?+
No. You join as a freelance teacher and choose your own hours. You can keep teaching elsewhere.
Do I pay anything to join?+
No. Applying and joining are free, and we never charge teachers to be listed or to rank higher.
How do I get paid?+
Each month we draft a statement from the lessons in your registers. You confirm it by the 3rd, it becomes your invoice, and we pay to your bank by the 7th.
I live abroad. Can I join?+
Yes, to teach online. You need no Malaysian work pass. We pay our own bank's sending fee, and you bear the receiving and intermediary fees.
I'm in Malaysia on a student pass. Can I apply?+
A student or dependant pass generally doesn't allow this work, even online. Our HR team looks at every case before any lesson is booked.
Who sees my details?+
Learners see the profile we write with you. Your phone number, email and payment details stay with PECSB.
