How long does the full programme take?+
Six months and 720 hours in total: levels 1 and 2 run 45 days each, levels 3 to 5 run 30 days each, at six hours a day, Mon–Fri — four in class and two of guided activity on the learning app. Most students join partway up the ladder.
Can I study online?+
Yes — every level runs face-to-face, online or hybrid, with the full resource library on OpenLearning either way.
Do I need a placement test first?+
Yes, and it is free. About 25 minutes online, then a teacher confirms your CEFR level and the level you should start at.
What comes after Level 5?+
An optional dedicated certification track prepares you for internationally recognised English exams — see the Exam Preparation programme.
Do I have to take all five levels?+
No, and most students do not. The free placement test decides where you start — begin at Level 3 and you pay for three levels, not five.
What is not included in the level fee?+
Three one-time charges, paid once on enrolment rather than per level: the student visa, registration and the resource fee. Ask us and we will send the current figures for your route.
How big are the classes?+
Twenty students at most, so everyone speaks in every lesson.
Do I get a certificate?+
Yes — one at the end of every level, stating the CEFR level you have reached, not only when you finish the programme.
Do you arrange the visa and accommodation?+
Yes. For international students we arrange the student pass and accommodation, so both are settled before you arrive.
Should I take PEP or Academic English?+
Choose Academic English if your goal is a university place and you want an intensive, academic-only, face-to-face course aligned with IELTS. Choose PEP if you want English for university, work and daily life, with the option to study online or hybrid — and a route to C1.
What happens between classes?+
The programme runs on our e-learning platform, so the work continues outside class hours with a digital portfolio that follows you through every level.
