Questions

General English, answered.

Who is General English for?+

Anyone who wants to communicate with ease in daily life and at work. It builds all four skills — listening, speaking, reading and writing — around everyday English, three hours a day, face-to-face, and you study as many levels as you need. If speaking is what you mainly want, look at the English Communication Skills Programme; if university is your goal, Academic English; if you want everyday and academic English together, the Premium English Programme.

Can I join if I have a low level of English?+

Yes. The programme starts from Level 1 (Starter) and accommodates learners at every stage — the initial placement test assigns you to the exact level for your goals. Take the placement test and we shall know your level.

What does General English cost?+

Ask us and we will quote your route. Each level runs one month and there are ten, but you start where the placement test puts you — so most students pay for fewer than ten, and the honest answer depends on your level.

How is General English different from the Premium English Programme?+

General English focuses on everyday communication, vocabulary and practical fluency for daily life. The Premium English Programme is a two-in-one combination that integrates General and Academic English, so you build real-world communication while naturally developing the academic competencies needed for university success.

How is General English different from Academic English?+

General English focuses on everyday communication, helping you elevate your vocabulary, comprehension and real-world English for daily life and work. Academic English is specifically geared towards IELTS preparation.

Can I move across to Academic English later?+

Yes. Take the placement test again and we place you at the Academic English level that fits.

Is there anything to study between classes?+

Yes — an hour of independent learning a day, with one course book for each CEFR level.

What time are the classes?+

Choose one session, Monday to Friday: mornings 9:00 am – 12:00 pm or afternoons 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Each level is one month — 20 class days, three hours a day.

How big are the classes?+

Five to ten students per group.
